Gogol Bordello es una banda "multinacional" formada en el Lower East Side de Nueva York,hacia 1999, mayormente por inmigrantes de Europa del Este.
Tienen un espíritu festivo, que trasladan a sus despliegues teatrales en escena,algo de "música de taberna" donde se aglutinan los sonidos "étnicos" ( aunque no me guste como se usa la palabra como "etiqueta",con el punk rock,ska o reggae,etc.Se los define como una banda de rock gitano,de hecho; y tienen gran protagonismo en su música el violín y el acordeón.
Hacen una música que va muy bien en una misma playlist con trabajos de Mano Negra o Manu Chao.
