Robert John - Sad Eyes

Robert John (Robert John Pedrick, Jr., 1946, Brooklyn, New York)

John había comenzado su carrera en 1958 y poco después fue cantante líder de Bobby & the Consoles en los sesentas, entonces bajo el nombre de Bobby Pedrick.

Este cantautor es mayormente recordado por su "hit" Sad Eyes (lanzado en 1979), cantada en un falsete (falsetto) similar al popularizado por los Bee Gees en esos años.La canción alcanzó el número uno del Billboard Hot 100.

Es una de mis "canciones de rompimiento" favoritas y aunque es muy "adulta" (casi pongo que es muy "adúltera" más bien...) siempre la asociaré con un temprano desencuentro adolescente...

En resumen,un temazo con todo el estilo y el sabor de una época en la música pop que no volverá.
